6 Texas Road Trip Destinations

Texas Roadtrip Destinations

When you look outside and see all the new life that arrives with spring, it probably puts you in the mood to take a road trip. As we all know, Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM vehicles are great for any kind of road-trip, especially the many possibilities within this great state we call home.

We’ve compiled a list of Texas road-trip destinations, perfect for a day trip, a weekend getaway, or full-fledged vacation. Check it out! And of course, let us know where your Ancira CJDR vehicle takes you!

  1. Hamilton Pool, also known as Dripping Springs

This gorgeous natural pool that was created when the dome of an underground river collapsed from thousands of years of erosion is located 23 miles west of Austin, or a little under 2 hours from San Antonio.

No matter what time of year, Hamilton Pool is a gorgeous sight!

2.) Big Bend National Park

As the largest protected area of the Chihuahuan Desert, Big Bend National Park is the only Park in the United States that contains a complete mountain range – the Chisos Mountain range, twenty miles of beauty.

Big Bend is home to so many natural wonders like Colorado River Canyon, Boquillas Canyon, Rio Grande River canyons, Mariscal Park River Canyon, Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive, and the Santa Elena nature trail. Big Bend National Park is quite a drive from San Antonio, as it is borders Mexico, nearly 500 miles away.

Being so far from the big city isn’t always a bad thing. You won’t beat the night sky view at Big Bend!

3.) Davis Mountains State Park

Not quite as far from San Antonio as Big Bend, Davis Mountain State Park is about 6 hours away, but it is worth the drive! Nestled in the foothills of the Davis Mountains, sometimes referred to as “the Alps of Texas,” the park is known for its hiking, mountain bike, and horse trails.

4.) Garner State Park

Less than 2 hours from San Antonio, Garner State Park is located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Wildly popular for its breathtaking views and activities on the Frio River, this park is a gem!

5.) Mother Neff State Park

Home to a variety of natural settings like woodland hiking trails, a gorgeous limestone river basin, and prairie, Mother Neff State Park is less than 3 hours from San Antonio.

6.) Monahans Sandhills State Park

If you’re looking to spend your time doing something a little different, consider Monahans Sandhills State Park! Just west of Odessa, this Texas state park is 3840 acres of wind sculptured “living sand dunes,” some being up to 70 feet high.

The Sandhills attract tourist for “sand surfing” and sand sliding.

Naturally, there are countless other Texas destinations worthy of trekking to in your CJDR vehicle! We love this great state that we serve.
